My 18hrs Odeal! (Flying to USA, 5th Dec!) Part Two

After 6 hours of flight, I stopped over at Narita Airport, Tokyo Japan. I had to wait for 3 hours before the next flight to O'Hare Airport, Chicago USA. I have totally lost track of time... the sun was already setting in Japan despite me leaving before dawn in Singapore (try thinking of time accelerating!). With time to burn, I took some photos around.

I wrote something in my notebook during the 3 hours wait in the Transit Lounge below:

United Airlines is not too interesting an airline to take... First
of all, there is the lousy in-flight entertainment. There is only a big screen
in front of every 3 rows of seats and we do not have any choice of what we want
to watch.

In 5 hours flight from
Singapore to Tokyo, there is only one show worth watching, which is 'Fantastic
Four'. Of course, I did not watch it... I was too tired as I didn't sleep the
night before.

The food was
pretty ok... we had chicken rice for breakfast. It didn't taste too good but it
is still soul food (and there is chilli sauce!)

Now I am in the transit lounge at Narita Airport,
Tokyo. There's nothing much here... not much things to see here and there is no
open-air spots. Everything including internet access costs money here (and
pretty expensive at that!), so basically I will be rotting here for 3 hours
before I can connect to a flight to Chicago.

The Chicago flight is going to be killing! A
scary 10 hours flight without any interactive in-flight entertainment! Guys take
SIA if you want to go anywhere far!

My 18hrs Odeal! (Flying to USA, 5th Dec!) Part One

Ok... the is about my 18hrs flight to Maryland, USA. I was real tired... and starting to get a bit scared... We reached Changi Airport at abt 5am (my flight is 715am and I have to check-in 2 hours earlier!). My whole family came along to send me off...

One car-gang of khakis came in the rain to send me off also... I am very touched (thanks to Mr Bao, Captain Koi, Joo and Xiong!). I gave all of my khakis a nice big hug before I crossed into the checkpoint =).

Last Day in Singapore (4th Dec)

My last day in Singapore... lots to do, yet no time left. Remising that day... I was having mixed emotions... a bit of excited, a bit of sadness, a bit of everything...

I spent most of my day meeting a very important friend and had a wonderful time! =)

Dinner was spent eating nice 'zhi char' with all my close friends. I didn't eat too well because of my mood... but still I enjoyed the company... guess I will miss them a lot! (now I missed the food too!)

One Hot Day in Sentosa before Maryland (3th Dec)

I haven't been updating my blog due to a whole lot of things to do when I came to Maryland, USA on the 5th Dec. (Of course, I have to admit I have been lazy... watching way too much TV... did I tell you that the cable TV here has 70+ channels?!) Now I will try to backdate my entries from the few days before I leave the sunny island of Singapore to fly to Maryland, USA. =)

My good friend from Voices, Huili, organised this Sentosa beach outing 3th Dec, a Saturday... the weekend before I fly off. So this sort of a farewell thingy for me... unfortunately, I realized forgot to bring my wallet while I was on the cab to Sentosa! ...had to ask Huili to pay for me when the cab reached World Trade Centre and that is so embarrassing! Anyway Voices is a singing ECA i used to be in when I was in NUS.

Looking back, I really missed the hot sun! We all had fun, relaxing and playing some beach volleyball!

We ended the day eating dinner at a Chinese restaurant in Bras Basah and then to Brewerks for some beer while watching Liverpool play against Wigan in the English Premier League (Liverpool won 3-0!).
